Samantha Marino, PsyD

Samantha Marino came to counseling in midlife. Prior to starting graduate school in Counseling Psychology, Samantha had been working as an artist and community organizer creating community-based art initiatives, teaching art and working in community development helping small businesses in the Garfield area. Her artwork had previously been focused on people and relationships and she sought ways to utilize her talents to facilitate growth for others. At the age of 34, she had an “epiphany” that she would like to be a researcher in the field of psychology, so she enrolled in the Master’s of Art in Counseling Psychology at Chatham University in 2015. She discovered a love for counseling and therapy, along with many opportunities to learn and grow as an academic and researcher. Samantha is currently teaching at Chatham in the same Master’s program she received her start in as an Adjunct Professor, teaching courses such as: Foundations of Counseling, Assessment and Human Development Across the Lifespan courses. She completed her coursework and dissertation and received her conferred degree as a PsyD. in Counseling Psychology through Chatham University in August of 2022. Samantha was licensed on 12/22/22 (PA #PS019785) after completing the exam requirements to be awarded such.
